Mallika Sherawat is a popular Indian actress and model. Known for her public openness, she is frequently featured in the Indian media as a sex symbol.

Mallika’s onscreen debut was in Lak Tunoo, a music video by Surjit Bindrakhia. She attracted wide notice with her appearance in the 2003 movie Khwahish. In 2004, she starred in Murder, a film inspired by Hollywood’s Unfaithful. She received a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards ceremony for her performance in Murder. Her first 2007 release was Himesh Reshammiya’s Aap Ka Suroor – The Real Love Story, where she played a “vampish role”.Mallika herself has protested, saying that it is a negative role but not a vamp role. With Aap Ka Suroor she has become the most expensive “Item Girl”, as she charged Rs. 1.5 crore for her Item number in the movie. Aap Ka Suroor did well at the box office. Her last release of 2007 was Welcome which also did well at the box office receiving blockbuster status.

The film was a box office failure in India but did better overseas, especially in the U.K. She received mixed reviews for her performance in the film. Her later release, Partner opened to a good response and became a hit. Lara is actually shooting for the forthcoming House Fulll which stars Akshay kumar and Deepika Padukone.She has stated that her role was the most important and strong in the movie but in another interview ,a source told that Deepika was the romantic lead and lara had the comic sequences and scenes. Her recent release movie Blue is one of the highest costing movie of Indian cinema and Lara had walked out of the project because she did not know swimming and the movie was entirely shot in the Ocean. She firstly refused to sign the movie but the male protagonist Akshay Kumar encouraged her in learning how to swim and she immediately started training with special coach. Blue has been release on 16 October 2009. The latest movie Do Knot Disturb has recently hit the screens and the verdict for the performance of the movie still awaits.The movie stars Govinda ,alongside with beauty queen Sushmita Sen and Riteish Deshmukh.
